PENDLETON, Ore. -- Community members and organizers are gearing up for the 103rd edition of the Pendleton Roundup!
Earlier this year, the rodeo was struggling to pay its property taxes. after it took over ownership of the grounds from the city.
But that's not stopping organizers.
The round-up from Wednesday, September 11th through Saturday, September 14th.
The signs are up, the hospitality building is set up and crews plan to start grooming the track later this week.
"Generally, there's a thousand volunteers. They all know their jobs, and pretty much everything is on track right now and ready to go for the Pendleton Roundup, just waiting for our guests. But it's more than just roundup volunteers, it's the entire community of Pendleton," said Randy Thomas, the publicity director for the roundup.
Tickets sales are strong this year with 94% of the tickets already sold for the Saturday of rodeo weekend.
Organizers say over the course of the weekend about 50,000 people will come through the City of Pendleton.
