Yakima City Council Could Limit Panhandling at Busy Intersections

YAKIMA, Wash.--The Yakima Public Safety Committee has approved multiple restrictions on panhandling.

The committee voted to criminalize aggressive begging and to ban taking items from cars at 15 major intersections, including 40th Avenue and Summitview and South First Street and Nob Hill.

The city council will vote on whether to approve the proposal at their next meeting.
