Golfers in Kennewick Raise Money for Disabled Veterans

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Labor Day weekend is underway and some people started it off with a day of golf.

Dozens of foursomes hit the Fairways at Canyon Lakes Friday for a tournament to benefit Camp Patriot, a non-profit group that helps disabled veterans get their lives back on track.

Besides the tournament, there was also a silent auction and a putting challenge, all to raise money for the organization that runs solely on the donations of their supporters.

"The Tri-Cities is one of those communities that always gives in a lot of ways to a lot of organizations so it's pretty amazing that as many times that you go back to the well, they're still willing to give," said Camp Patriot's Executive Director Micah Clark.

This was the 4th year for the event and organizers say it keeps getting bigger every year.
