Yakima City Council Votes to Rename "A" Street

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash. -- "A" Street in Yakima officially has a new name.

On Tuesday, the Yakima City Council unanimously approved a proposal at their meeting to change the name of "A" Street to Sergeant Pendleton Boulevard.

Two veterans groups in Yakima want to rename the street after the city's only medal of honor recipient.

However, after a public hearing last month, the council put off the decision to make sure all other requests were considered.
