YAKIMA, Wash. - The Yakima County Sheriff's Office says two people face assault, theft, and eluding charges after trying to hit a deputy in a stolen truck.
Deputies say they tried to stop the stolen Dodge in Yakima Tuesday night, but instead the two men led deputies on a high speed chase into Union Gap.
The Sheriff's Office says the drivers drove past a dead end onto private property, but when the deputy got out of the patrol car, the men tried to back into him.
The deputy fired one round at the truck but the men drove off. Deputies arrested them a few minutes later when the truck crashed down the street.
No one got hurt throughout the ordeal.
