Fire Damages Home in Terrace Heights

Posted: Updated:
TERRACE HEIGHTS, Wash.-- A family home is severely damaged after it caught fire Wednesday afternoon, but crews said everyone did make it out safely.
Several agencies responded to the house in Terrace Heights along the 2700 Block of Butterfield Road. The lawn caught fire as well, and crews said they needed as many resources as possible to get things under control.
"We like to throw abundant resources there so we have the resources when we need them," said Chief Mike Riel with the East Valley Fire Department. "It's easier to send them back, and in times like these it's tough. We all give mutual aid to one another. It's a great system that helps us get through these big fires."
Crews said the cause of the fire is unknown, and it's currently under investigation.
