Back to School Health Fair

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Kids are heading back to school and it's a great time to get all those health check ups.

The NewEdge Wellness Center held a Back to School Health Fair Saturday and it included everything from eye exams, health vendors and a bouncy house.

Organizers say kids aren't healthy enough these days and it's important to teach them how to be healthy and why it matters.

"We've got to make a change. This is a way to educate people. It's a way for kids to have a fun time while they're doing it. To learn about how great it is to be healthy and why they want to do these things," said Dr. Chris Murphy, NewEdge Wellness Center.

A school supply drive at the event collected items for kids in needs so they can be prepared for the new school year.

All the proceeds from the health fair benefits a good cause. The money raised goes to the Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission.
