TOPPENISH, Wash. - The Washington State Patrol says a man from Toppenish was intoxicated when he got hit by a car Sunday night.
Troopers say 46-year-old Elmer Williams ignored a "do not cross" signal, and walked across State Route 97 at Fort Road.
Paramedics took him to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. As of Monday morning he's in stable condition.
The driver of the car, 73-year-old Geraldine Patnode from Zillah, wasn't hurt.
