Ayers Arrested Again
On the 7th of September 2013, at approximately 5:45 AM, the Hermiston Police Department arrested Jeremiah Ayers yet again, this time inside a vehicle not belonging to him. Ayers, 23 years of age, of 150 NE 8th Place, Hermiston, was arrested in the 600 block of NE Willow Court after an observant citizen noticed someone inside his vehicle parked in his driveway.
Ayers was processed at the Hermiston Police Department and lodged at the Umatilla County Jail on initial charges of Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Possession of Hydrocodone. Officers of the department then began work on piecing together property Ayers had in his possession, with rightful owners.
Based on all this information, a search warrant was written and served at the Ayers residence. A significant amount of property was seized as a result of that warrant. Ayers was ultimately charged with (4) additional counts of Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, (2) counts of Theft in the First Degree, and (3) counts of Theft in the Second Degree.
Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues. Detectives will be continuing their work this week to return property to owners.
"If ever there is someone that needs to sit in jail long enough for us to finalize this investigation and ensure his crime wave is properly accounted for, it is Mr. Ayers. This marks our 17th arrest and 63rd charge for Ayers."
