HERMISTON, Ore. - Hermiston Police say they have arrested a young man for the 17th time.

Officers say they arrested 23-year-old Jeremiah Ayers Saturday night on NE Willow Court, when someone spotted him inside their car in their driveway.

Police arrested and booked Ayers into the Umatilla County Jail on charges of Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Possession of Hydrocodone.

Officers say they served a search warrant at Ayers's home, and seized a significant amount of property.

Police ultimately charged him with four additional counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of theft in the first degree, and three counts of theft in the second degree.

"If ever there is someone that needs to sit in jail long enough for us to finalize this investigation and ensure his crime wave is properly accounted for, it is Mr. Ayers," said Chief Jason Edmiston, "this marks our 17th arrest and 63rd charge for Ayers."
