41-Year-Old Man Arrested After Driving To Jail Drunk

Posted: Updated:

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A 41-year-old Twin Bridges man is charged with aggravated DUI after Gallatin County deputies say showed up intoxicated to pick up some keys from his jailed brother.

Charging documents say Jason Todd Royston told deputies that he had driven from Gillette, Wyo., to Bozeman to pick up the keys. Royston ended up passing out in the jail lobby Sunday night.

Prosecutors say Royston told deputies he was drinking during the 375-mile drive.

Deputies say a breath test showed Royston's blood-alcohol level was 0.254, just over three times the limit of 0.08 at which a person is considered legally intoxicated.

KTVM-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1axjtju ) Roystan appeared in court on Monday morning. Justice of the Peace Bryan Adams released Royston on his own recognizance and ordered that he wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet.
