YAKIMA, Wash. -- The final downtown workshop was held Monday morning at the Yakima Convention Center.
At the workshop, Yakima City Councilors were presented the Downtown Master Plan created by urban design firm Crandall Arambula on how to improve Yakima's downtown experience. The plan, according to the designers, could revitalize downtown.
"People will say, 'have you been to Yakima yet? Have you been to the downtown?'" urban designer George Crandall said. "It will be great for business. It will be great for the cities image."
The plan, which City Council must approve, would cost millions of dollars and include a new plaza, boulevard and public market.
