Autopsy Results Reveal Benton City Man Died From Stab Wounds

BENTON CITY, Wash.-  New information about the man found dead near a church in Benton City.     

The Benton County coroner says 55-year-old Michael Edwards died from multiple stab wounds late Sunday night.

Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death as a homicide.

They say a neighbor found Edwards' body Monday morning in the parking lot of The Assembly of God Church on North River Road. 

Neighbors told police they heard some sort of scuffle the night before, but waited until Monday morning to call 9-1-1.

BENTON CITY, Wash. - The Benton County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a man found dead Monday morning in a Benton City church parking lot.

Deputies say Michael A. Edwards, 55, from Benton City was found behind the Assembly of God Church on North River Road. They say they are investigating the death as a homicide.

BENTON CITY, Wash. - We're working to learn more information about what Benton County Sheriff's Deputies are calling a potential homicide in Benton City.

Deputies say a neighbor called 911 around 8:00 a.m. Monday to report a commotion they heard outside the Assembly of God Church late Sunday night. 

Deputies say when they arrived, they found the body of a man and one car in the parking lot behind the church on North River Road. 

Detectives say they are investigating the man's death as a possible homicide. Deputies haven't said the man's name, or how he may have died.
