City of Yakima Hosts Wellness Fair for their Employees, Retirees and Their Families

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.--The City of Yakima is wrapping up their second annual "Wellness Fair".

City employees, their families and retirees were invited to the Yakima Convention Center Tuesday for health risk assessments and even a massage. There was plenty of take home information on nutrition and exercise.

This year, organizers doubled the size of the event and expected around 400 people to attend.

"If you talk to anybody who's leaving this health fair, they feel that it is all about them because that's what the focus is," said Cheryl Ann Mattia, the city's Human Resources Manager. "We want them to feel as though we care about them, their families and we care about the retirees and their health."

The City of Yakima has nearly 800 employees. Tuesday's event was free for all vendors and attendees.
