Wallaroo Missing near Spokane Back Home

Posted: Updated:

DEER PARK, Wash. - A young wallaroo missing for nearly a month in the Deer Park area north of Spokane is safely back home after being spotted in a neighbor's blueberry patch.

Owner Andie Davis says she got a phone call Tuesday from the neighbor who reported seeing "Hopkins."  A wallaroo is a type of kangaroo.

Davis headed for the blueberry patch about a mile away and soon had the 2 ½-year-old creature secured.

Hopkins broke out of his pen in August.  Now, he's back home with his mom, Bouncy, and his brother, Dave.

Davis says she's added locks so he doesn't wander again.
