Richland Police Arrest Man Accused of Killing His Girlfriend

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash. - Richland Police say they're investigating a Wednesday night homicide along Dos Palos Court.

Court documents show two children, ages two and six, left their apartment around 11:30 p.m., went next door, and told their neighbor their mom was dead. When police arrived at the apartment they found Rebeca Vandeventer, 32, dead inside with multiple stab wounds to the chest.

While officers were at the scene, they found out Lawrence Arnold Miller, 34, showed up at the Richland Police Station saying he believed he killed his girlfriend. Officers arrested and booked him into the Benton County Jail on second degree murder charges.

Investigators say Miller admitted to killing Vandeventer by stabbing her several times with a knife because he found out she had a new boyfriend.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday afternoon.
