Additional Level 1 Sex Offenders Fighting for Privacy

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Benton County judge ruled Friday to allow 11 additional level-one sex offenders to join a lawsuit to keep their identities private. Now, a total of 21 level-one sex offenders are fighting to keep their information sealed.

Mesa resident Donna Zink asked Benton and Franklin County to release the information about lower-level sex offenders so she can make it available to the public. Franklin County already released the information.

Judge Bruce Spanner denied a request to file a class action lawsuit to protect more than 400 sex offenders, because not every case is the same.

Another hearing will be held in two weeks.
