KHQ.COM - A wall of dust & high winds hit the Spokane area at about 9:00pm on Sunday night. Our friends from all over the Inland Northwest have been posting photos on our KHQ Facebook wall of the dust storm. Our region also experienced lightning along with thunderstorms on Sunday night. On Monday expect partly cloudy, blustery & dusty conditions. High temperatures nose-dive into the 70's…Low/High 59°/74°

Monday: After some wild weather last night conditions will be much calmer, but cooler, today. Still some isolated showers are possible, mostly before noon. The one constant today will be some breezy winds with gusts to 30 mph possible. High: 74°

Monday Night: Mostly dry and partly cloudy, winds start to die down. Much cooler morning temps Low: 52°
 
Tuesday: Another round of showers looking to move in by late morning (across the Palouse) and early afternoon (Spokane, CDA, Northern Interior). Even cooler temps as a trough of low pressure settles in on top of us. High: 70°

    ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska authorities say a missing man has been found dead near the site where a member of his search party was mauled by a brown bear near a suburb of Alaska's largest city. They believe the missing man, Michael Soltis, was killed by the same bear.

    EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (AP) - A Wisconsin game warden was smarter than the average bear. Department of Natural Resources warden Dave Walz was called to an Eagle River home in northern Wisconsin early Wednesday to help rescue a bear cub trapped in a newly built open basement. Walz and the homeowner decided to use a ladder to rescue the crying cub. Video shot by Walz shows the animal climbing the ladder to freedom with some off-camera coaching.
