September 16, 2013

Police were notified Sunday morning of a shooting victim being treated at a local hospital. The 32-year-old male reported he was out walking in the area of Pioneer Park late Saturday night when he was confronted by 2 Hispanic males. The altercation turned physical and one of the suspects pulled out a handgun. The victim wrestled with the gunman and the gun went off, striking the victim in the lower leg. The suspects ran off and the victim walked to a residence where he spent the night before being taken to a local hospital Sunday morning for treatment of his minor injury and released.

There were no descriptions of the suspects and the case is being reviewed by the police department's Special Teams Unit. Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to call Detectives at 527-4434.
