Autopsy Results Reveal Richland Stabbing Victim Bled to Death

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash.- The Benton County Coroner's Office released Monday the autopsy results for Rebecca Vandeventer.

Prosecutors say her boyfriend, Lawrence Miller killed her last Wednesday in the Richland apartment where they both lived.

The results revealed Vandeventer died from blood loss due to injuries from at least 30 stab wounds. They were mostly in the chest, back and groin. Miller also admitted stomping hard on her chest.

The Benton County Prosecutor said Miller is being charged with second degree murder with four aggravating circumstances for deliberate cruelty, domestic violence, impact on others and excessive injuries.

"As of right now we don't feel we have proof beyond reasonable doubt to prove premeditated murder, however that is something we will continue to consider as we work with the police department," said Any Miller, Benton County Prosecutor.

The prosecutor said Vandeventer's injuries exceeded what it would have taken to kill her and Lawrence Miller's action harmed more than just the victim as her three children could see and hear the attack.
