PNNL Gets National Recognition For Hiring

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash.- PNNL is getting some major buzz on the way they pick and choose their best and brightest.

This week Pacific Northwest National Laboratory was named a social media all-star by Fortune Magazine in an article in their most recent publication. They're one of five companies in the U.S. to receive the honor along with big names like Facebook, American Express and Jet Blue Airlines.

PNNL is specifically being recognized for it's advancements in hiring. The lab uses social media platforms like many employers, but they go beyond the average quick web search. Recruiters look into discussion boards on LinkedIn and find candidates that want to change the world.

"Whether it's an interest in national security or reducing our dependence on imported oil or someone who's passionate about fundamental research, it's just about tying to identify people who want to make a difference," said Rob Dromgoole a PNNL recruiter.

Dromgoole went on to say that many employees at PNNL are at the lab because it's truly what they are passionate about doing and those are the kind of people they want to work with.
