KENNEWICK, Wash.- Both prosecutors and defense attorneys agree crime lab specialists will play a large role in an upcoming murder trial.
Robert McCorkindale, 24, is accused of running a car over a man several times, putting the man's body in the trunk, and then setting the car on fire to hide the evidence. After Sheriff's deputies arrested him, detectives say McCorkindale told them he and the other man had met in a remote area near Prosser to deal drugs.
Benton County Prosecutor Andy Miller says reports from the crime lab will corroborate accounts of what happened.
McCorkindale's attorney says the reports, due before the end of the month, will determine how she proceeds in preparing a defense.
