RICHLAND, Wash. - Calling all entrepreneurs. Or about ten of you, rather. The first Tri-Cities Startup Weekend kicks off this Friday.
It's a weekend of business development at WSU Tri-Cities where participants begin the process with one minutes pitches of their best ideas. Only a few are chosen, by voting, and the rest of the weekend is spent working on business models.
"To have a Startup Weekend is a big cultural statement that says we are here to foster creativity. We are here to create jobs. We are here to take ideas, take people and mix them together and make businesses," said organizer Erik Ralston.
The top group at the end of the weekend, receives an entrepreneur's toolkit. There is still time to sign up. It costs $75 but if you use the promo code 'Cougs' you get $25 off.
