Washington Navy Yard Opens; Workers Uneasy

WASHINGTON (AP) - Some of the Washington Navy Yard employees returning to work this morning say it's too soon for them to even talk about Monday's shootings that killed 12 people. Others say it will take a while to get past the tragedy.
    
The installation re-opened this morning at 6 a.m. One woman admitted that she'd "rather not be here today."
    
Navy spokeswoman Lt. Cmdr. Sarah Flaherty said today will be a regular work day, except for Building 197, where the shootings occurred, and the base gym. She says the gym is being used as a staging area for the FBI to investigate Monday's rampage in which former Navy reservist Aaron Alexis gunned down 12 people before being killed by police.

    “They deemed him disabled at that moment and they said that he would never walk or talk," Tammy Loe and her husband adopted Brandon at the age of two. After dinner, Brandon and his mom spend every evening at the family dining room table, which becomes the classroom. 13-year-old Brandon is a sixth grader at River City Middle School in Post Falls and he loves books. Brandon has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, giving him his fair share of trials and tribulations.

    COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Coeur d’Alene Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who entered a grocery store demanding money from the clerk at gunpoint. The robbery occurred around 9pm Wednesday at Jordan's Grocery in the 1000 block of N. 15th street. The suspect male entered the store with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk who removed all the cash from the register and gave it to the suspect.
