What's The Best Thing About Fall?

Posted: Updated:
Blog By Nichole Mischke - While I tend to be someone who has to get out the box of tissues when summer comes to an end, I am trying to be a little more optimistic about the arrival of fall this year. I don't want to be all depressed, but it's hard; I love Summer weather!

I love heat. I mean...I REALLY love heat. I am the girl who in the middle of winter, will turn my oven up to 350 degrees, open it, and stand right in front of it. If a fireplace is burning, you will usually find me sitting right in front of it either reading a book or curled up on the ground taking a nap. I don't like ice water; I prefer hot water with lemon and when I order coffee, even if it's summer, I always order it "extra hot."  Yes...my husband thinks I'm crazy.

Anyway, this year, I am trying to remind myself why Fall, although cooler than Summer, should be loved and appreciated too.

Here are some photos to serve as a reminder to myself and others who aren't wanting to say goodbye to summer just yet, to appreciate and enjoy all things fall this year! To those of you who already appreciate the four seasons...props to you but be sure to share your optimism to help the rest of us out of a rut.

What is your favorite thing about fall? Do you have a fall photo you would like to share? Let us know and send your fall pictures to

I am also challenging everyone to sit down with your family and make a Fall "bucket list" of 10 Things You Want To Do This Fall.

To give you ideas, I am also starting a "Fun Things To Do In The Fall" List! If you have something to add, let us know on the KHQ Facebook page by saying: "My favorite fun thing to do in the fall is..."
