SUNNYSIDE, Wash. - A Second Harvest mobile food bank is making its way to Sunnyside to help Yakima Valley residents struggling with hunger.
On Friday from noon to 2:00 p.m., the food bank will allow residents access to free fresh produce and perishable foods. It will be set up at the Sunnyside ACS Food Bank, located at 1875 E. Lincoln Ave.
Anyone in need will also receive half gallons of Darigold 2% milk, donated by Mid-Columbia Basin dairy farmers through their Dairy for Life Program.
The distribution is open to anyone and no appointment or documentation is necessary to participate, just make sure to bring a box.
People who are disabled, homebound, or working can have a friend or family member pick up food if they provide a note granting permission that includes their name and contact information.
