UPDATE: Hazmat Crews Clean Up Fuel Spill In Downtown Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. -

SPOKANE, Wash. - Early Friday morning, a driver of a compact car slammed into a fuel truck spilling diesel fuel all over the road. The incident occurred near 3rd avenue and Browne in downtown Spokane around 3:30am.

No one was hurt, but about 50 gallons of fuel spilled onto the road.

Hazmat crews cleaned up the fuel. A couple lanes were shut down while Hazmat crews responded to the scene and cleaned up the spill.

Deputies spoke with family members at their home, where they found a "goodbye" letter, but could not locate the young man.
