Raffle Raises Over $14,000 for Veterans Charities

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo has donated $14,080 to non-profit organizations that support veterans in and out of the community.

Grigg's Department Store, and its ACE Hardware stores, donated a gun safe and guns valued at more than $6,000 for a raffle during the fair last month, and they provided the man power to sell the tickets.

Camp Patriot will receive $13,080 to assist its mission of "giving back to those who have given" by providing outdoor adventures for wounded military veterans.

Another $1,000 will go to the Columbia Basin Veterans Coalition, which provides services to aid transitional veterans in assimilating back into the civilian environment in the Tri-Cities.

During the past five years, more than $45,680 has been raised at the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo to benefit Camp Patriot.
