KENNEWICK, Wash.- A fire sends a Kennewick home up in flames, but not before an unlikely companion helps to save the owner's life.
Kennewick firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire along the 400 block of First Street just after 9:30 PM Monday.
The owner of the home says it was her dog that alerted her that something was wrong.
That's when she noticed the smoke and flames.
She says it's because of her dog "Baby Girl," they both made it out of the burning home safely.
"Well, she started barking and went toward the back and I got up to look since she wouldn't be quiet. I went back there and thought there was a light on and then realized it was orange. Then, I saw the flames and I grabbed her and my cell phone and ran outside," said owner Marcella Rogers.
However, Roger says she is unsure if any of her cats were able to escape the fire.
