Chiefs Take On Royals In Back-To-Back Games

The Chiefs are 1-0-0-0 as they head to Victoria for the first of two back-to-back games against the Royals. Game time is 7:05 p.m for both games.

Tuesday night will be the first of four meetings between the two teams this year. Victoria will visit Spokane on October 19th and January 3rd.

The Chiefs were 3-1-0-0 vs. Victoria last season, including a 2-0-0-0 record on the road. Mitch Holmberg scored 5 points on 3 goals and 2 assists against the Royals last season, while Mike Aviani scored 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points. Goaltender Eric Williams was 2-1-0-0 vs. Victoria last season, allowing 9 goals on 84 shots. Garret Hughson was 1-0-0-0 vs. the Royals, allowing 4 goals on 42 shots.

Last season, the Chiefs were 3-0 against the Royals when scoring first, but 0-1 when Victoria netted the first goal. Power plays were important between the two squads last year, as the Chiefs scored on 6 of 15 opportunities (40%) and the Royals scored on 5 of 22 (22.7%). Each team scored one shorthanded goal on the other.
