Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - A retired teacher from Pasco High School and former board member will receive the first ever Pasco High School Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jeffery Dong will receive the award at halftime during the Gravel Pit Championship on Friday. The school district says the award honors outstanding individuals who have impacted the lives of Pasco High School students and left a lasting legacy through their influence and passion.

Dong joined Pasco High School in 1967 teaching history and coaching tennis. His career spanned 40 years and included many accolades such as the Staff Achievement Award, Coach of the Year, and Teacher of the Year. He most recently served as a member of the Pasco School District Board of Directors.
