FBI: Navy Yard Gunman Left Note Saying He Was Driven To Kill

KHQ.COM - The FBI has released 30 seconds of chilling video footage from closed circuit video cameras of Aaron Alexis, now deceased, at the Washington Navy Yard on September 16, 2013.

This coming from the FBI:

"The footage includes the following:

"- Alexis drives his rental car, a blue Toyota Prius, through the Washington Navy Yard main gate.

"- Alexis enters Building #197 carrying a backpack. Alexis had legitimate access to the Washington Navy Yard as a result of his work as a contractor and he utilized a valid pass to gain entry to the building.

"- Alexis moves through the hallways and a stairwell of Building #197 carrying a Remington 870 shotgun."

NAVY YARD GUNMAN  LEFT NOTE SAYING HE WAS DRIVEN TO KILL

WASHINGTON (AP) - The FBI says Washington Navy Yard gunman Aaron Alexis left a note saying he was driven to kill by months of bombardment with extremely low-frequency radio waves.
   
Valerie, Parlave, assistant director in charge of the FBI's Washington field office, said Wednesday that Alexis did not target particular individuals in the Sept. 16 attack in which he killed 12 people.
   
She also says there was no indication the shooting stemmed from any workplace dispute. Instead, Parlave says, his behavior in the weeks before the shooting and evidence since recovered by investigators reveal a man increasingly in the throes of paranoia and delusions.
   
Alexis was killed in the Navy Yard by a U.S. Park Police officer following a rampage and shootout with police that the FBI says lasted more than an hour.

FBI: "DC Navy Yard Shooter Didn't Target Victims"

WASHINGTON (AP) - The FBI says there is no indication that the Navy Yard shooter targeted any specific individuals when he opened fire inside a building, killing 12 people.
    
Valerie Parlave, head of the FBI's field office in Washington, said Wednesday during a news conference that investigators are continuing to explore the background and motivations of 34-year-old Aaron Alexis. However, she says Alexis had a well-documented history of mental health issues.
    
Parlave says Alexis held a delusional belief that he was being controlled by extremely low frequency waves, or ELF waves. Alexis had written "my ELF weapon" on a shotgun he used in the rampage.
    
Alexis, a former Navy reservist and IT contractor, was killed in a shootout with police.

    WICKLIFFE, Ohio (AP) - Police say a 2-year-old girl has been accidentally shot and killed by her mother at a hotel outside of Cleveland.    Wickliffe police in a statement say emergency crews were called to an Econo Lodge around 11 p.m. Friday. A police officer and paramedics tried to resuscitate the girl, who was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.
