Members from all branches of the military came together on Wednesday to remember a veteran who did so much for so many. Mike Lovas was killed in a motorcycle accident on September 10th near Trent and Mission in Spokane Valley.

The Patriot Guard gathered in Medical Lake before they made their way to a committal service at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery and a Memorial Service at the Center Place Regional Events Center in Spokane Valley.

Lovas served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He was a skilled musician and participated in the Marine Corps band. He was an active member of the Patriot Guard Riders and served as the first Northeast Washington District Captain of the Washington State Patriot Guard Riders. Lovas also worked as an author and he served as a nationally recognized public speaker.
