"Defer no time, delays have dangerous ends." William Shakespeare mused that piece of wisdom.

"The key is in not spending time, but in investing it." Author Stephen Covey advised that.

"And then one day you find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun." Pink Floyd engrained that into my brain with their wonderful, elegant English accents in their masterpiece, Dark Side Of The Moon.

The theme here is that time is just about as valuable of a commodity that you can come across these days. And it only seems to be increasing in value as our world becomes more and more fast-paced and connected. People are rushing around the sidewalks, glued to their phones, answering emails, talking to grandmas, and face-timing their pet turtles. Basically, wearing down their batteries. Both figuratively and literally. But let's just focus on the literal part for now.

I know every morning I wake up and the first thing I do is pull my phone off it's charger and immediately go through e-mails, text messages, social media, The CHIVE, play back my brother in Words with Friends, and essentially see what I missed while I was in sleepy time land. By the time I get out of bed, my phone has gone from a 100% charge, to usually an 85-90% charge. Now that's just in the morning. I'm constantly on my phone throughout the day, and one problem I always run across is that before I plug my phone back in for the night, my phone is already dead. I've learned to charge it whenever I can throughout the day to avoid this, but usually ten minutes on a wall charger doesn't amount to much. Enter the Kopi power strip.

Kopi has designed a multitude of products aimed at making the most out of your charging time. I was given the Kopi Multiple USB Power Strip to check out earlier this week and all I can say is that I no longer have to worry about whether or not my phone will make it through the day, because while it doesn't increase battery life, it does efficiently make the most of it's time with your device by speed charging it.

The strip comes with eight USB ports, which is nice, because if you've ever tried to fill every three-prong outlet on a strip, you know that can be a difficult task. The Kopi power strip ensures that you'll be able to charge up to eight devices all at once and leave no port unused. To ensure you get the most out of your charging time, it even comes with toggle switches that you adjust depending on what device you're charging. The toggle switch for each port has an Android setting and an iDevice setting to maximize charging efficiency, and each port is powerful with up to 2.4 Amps of power.

And I'm here to tell you, the speed charging does work. I plugged in my phone with the toggle switch (they call it the Kbar) in the "iDevice" setting with 46% battery about an hour ago, and it is now sitting at 100% battery. Kopi claims this time would have doubled had the toggle switch been on the "Android" setting. So I decided to run down my phone again, roughly to 50% and use the Android setting while charging and found that it was indeed a slower charge.

The wonderful thing about the Kopi Power Strip is that if I were to ever lose my charger, or make the unthinkable switch to Android, I would still have the power strip that is able to speed charge both devices. In the long run, this would save me money.

I think the strip I was given to test could have benefited from at least one three-prong station, however Kopi does make strips that have both the three-prong outlets and the USB ports. I also don't think that I have enough devices to warrant an entire strip dedicated to USB ports, but Kopi also makes chargers for single devices and they are reasonable priced. I could see the Kopi Multiple USB Power Strip useful for businesses who utilize the latest technology and are constantly needing to speed charge their devices. Hmmm, I wonder what kind of business would benefit from that? A TV station maybe?
