The Magic of Manufacturing Experience from Concept to Reality

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash.-  Technology is all around us, but somewhere, somehow, someone came up with the concept and it took manufacturers to build it.

That's part of the Magic of Manufacturing at this year's Smartmap Expo.

Wednesday, Jeremy Bout with Edge Factor showed people a part of the magic through the stories of people behind some of the greatest manufacturing accomplishments in the country.

Bout says they're the heroes that sometimes go unrecognized; like the story of a man who lost his leg, but still wanted to compete in the X-Games.

"He wanted to race.  There was no leg on the market that looked anything like his leg, but he had the idea and he had the need.  He had a problem and as manufacturers when there's a problem, we find a solution.  We take our hands, we connect them to our minds and we come up with a solution," said Bout.

Edge Factor produces videos spotlighting stories from idea to creation to get viewers pumped about the whole manufacturing process.

The Smartmap Expo continues Thursday, Sept. 26th with free food and wine tasting's, as well as manufacturing expositions and seminars from 9am to 4pm at the TRAC in Pasco.
