Kennewick Driver Threatens Two Pedestrians with Pellet Gun

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A man is in the Benton County Jail this morning after police say he threatened two people with a gun.

Kennewick Police say late Wednesday night, 44-year-old Ruben Salazar drove up to two people walking across the intersection at Arthur Street and Metaline Avenue.

Officers say the pedestrians thought Salazar approached them aggressively, so the three began arguing. Police say Salazar then pulled out a gun, which the two people thought was a semi-automatic pistol, and drove off.

Officers say they later caught up with Salazar and found a pellet pistol under the driver seat. Police arrested him having a weapon capable of causing bodily harm, false reporting and driving with a suspended license.
