PROSSER, Wash. - Along with the new Wine Science Center, Governor Jay Inslee made several other stops around the Tri-Cities Thursday.

The rest of Governor Inslee's agenda covered lunch at the Walter Clore Wine Center in Prosser where he took a quick tour of the new Wine and Culinary Center now under construction.

There he spoke about transportation, stressing the importance of corridors like Snoqualmie Pass for exporting and improving the safety of roadways for bringing visitors east.

Next, Inslee and his entourage made their way to Kiona Winery in Benton City. There he met with Yakima River Basin irrigators about plans for future water supplies which will help grape growers. However, it all came back to wine.

"There's none growing faster than the wine industry. This is the jewel, the agricultural crown right now of our growth in Washington state. We think we can triple the amount of wine we produce in the next couple decades. That's an outstanding rate of growth," Gov. Inslee said.

Governor Inslee also stopped by the Port of Benton Thursday afternoon and talked about Hanford.
