Stricken United Plane Pilot Dies In Boise After Emergency Landing For Medical Emergency

Posted: Updated:
BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A Boise hospital says the stricken pilot of a United Airlines flight that made an emergency landing has died.

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Jennifer Krajnik said Friday the man died overnight at the hospital. A United statement early Friday morning identified the man as a pilot on the flight. The airline did not give his name, citing privacy reasons.

United Flight 1603 with 161 passengers was flying from Houston to Seattle when the medical emergency forced it to make the landing about 8 p.m. in Boise.

The passengers were put on another plane and completed their trip to Sea-Tac Airport.
