KENNEWICK, Wash. - A Kennewick man is in custody following a fire early Friday morning at Edison Village Green Apartments.

Kennewick police say two people were in the apartment when the fire started but evacuated before fire personnel arrived.

Officers later arrested Jason Hill, 31, and booked him into the Benton County Jail. He is facing charges for reckless burning. Police say they don't believe the fire was accidental and are investigating it as arson.

KENNEWICK, Wash. - One person in Kennewick is without a home after an apartment fire early Friday morning.

Firefighters are working to find out what started the fire in the living room of a bottom unit at the Edison Village Green Apartments. Firefighters say they were able to quickly knock out the flames and keep the damages within the single apartment.

"The close proximity to fire units and the rapid response of crews on scene ad aggressive offensive attack is what kept it to unit 104," said Capt. Tim Harkins with the Kennewick Fire Department.

Firefighters will return to the scene later this morning to continue the investigation. No one got hurt.
