Mesa Elementary Teacher Wins Classroom Makeover

Posted: Updated:

MESA, Wash. - As part of our classroom makeover series, a 4th grade teacher at Mesa Elementary School can now spruce up her classroom.

Tricia Clary has taught at the North Franklin School District for 10 years.

Friday morning, NBC Right Now joined Kadlec Regional Medical Center to surprise her with a check for $250.

Clary says the money will help brighten up her classroom, and make a big impact on their library.

"The kids will get new and interesting books to read, that they want," she said. "We'll even make a wish list. We'll add some new seating up front and some new storage for them to put their things in."

A mother of two of Clary's former students nominated her for the classroom makeover. She says Clary always makes sure her students are excited to learn, and have school supplies, warm clothes, shoes and food.
