Chiefs Ready For Home Opener Saturday

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

The Spokane Chiefs (3-0-0-0) are set to open their 2013-14 home schedule with Bud Light Opening Night on Saturday, September 28. They will host the Tri-City Americans (1-2-0-0 through Thursday) in their second of twelve head-to-head matchups this season. The Chiefs opened the regular season with a decisive 6-2 victory over the Americans in Kennewick on September 21.

Medal of Honor recipient US Army Staff Sergeant Ty Carter will be honored at center ice prior to the game with the ceremonial puck drop. Carter, a Spokane native, received the nation’s highest military honor following his actions during a battle in Afghanistan in 2009.

The ceremonial puck drop will follow player introductions and the naming of the 2013-14 Chiefs captain.

The official game time for the home opener is 7:05 p.m. but fans are encouraged to come early as pre-game festivities are expected to begin by 6:50 p.m. A multitude of entertainment options are available on the main concourse before the puck drop. Doors are expected to open one hour prior to game time.

Tickets are still available for Bud Light Opening Night. For information, come to the Chiefs Ticket Office in person, call at (509) 535-PUCK, visit any TicketsWest outlet, or visit www.ticketswest.com.
