COURT DOCS: Spokane Man Writes About Desire To Build A 'Kill Room'

Posted: Updated:

A disturbing story out of southwest Spokane as 33-year-old Brent Russ was taken into custody by Federal Agents on a stalking charge Thursday, but that is just where this story begins.

Federal Agents said in court documents obtained by the Spokesman Review that Russ believed himself to be the "embodiment of God's wrath." He referred to himself as "Azrael The Archangel Of Death," also known as the Grim Reaper. Agents raided his home Thursday and found writings by Russ describing his desire to build a "kill room," like something you would have seen in the television show "Dexter," a series about a serial killer.

Agents also found several firearms including semi-automatic weapons that had been modified to inflict even greater harm and he had a journal suggesting that Adam Lanza was framed. You may remember Lanza as the shooter in the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting that left 26 people dead, including 20 children.

Before his arrest Brent Russ was found hiding in his Spokane home barricaded inside and told agents he was fending off "nocturnal creatures he vowed to slay with a sword by slicing through their brains."

On top of all that Russ claimed he had developed a plan to dissolve the U.S. Federal Government. He mailed that plan to President Barack Obama among others.

Back on August 5th Spokane Police found a letter written by Russ, as "Azrael the Archangel of Death." It read in part: "We were sent to this world for an incredibly important purpose. Every day that passes is a day closer to when free humanity will rely upon us for our leadership and protection...You and I have known each other for nearly 7000 years now... Your flawless judgement and discernment serve to ensure my vengeance is absolutely virtuous in the eyes of The Creator."

Brent will be in federal court for a bail hearing next week.
