KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The 80th annual Richland Kennel Club dog show kicked off Friday in Columbia Park with lots of four-legged competitors.
The show started Friday with a Cardigan Welsh Corgi competition.
Dogs come from across the region and as far away as Alaska and Colorado.
Organizers expect three thousand people to attend over the weekend and say this show is unique because it dedicates a day specifically to corgis.
"It's to help promote the style, the performance and the confirmation of the Cardigan Welsh Corgi," said Glen Garity, dog show chairman.
The dog show will include all types of canine breeds starting Saturday through Sunday. Organizers say more than one thousand dogs will compete this weekend. Admission is free.
