City of West Richland Looking to Improve Local Parks

Posted: Updated:

WEST RICHLAND, Wash. -- The City of West Richland is in the process of figuring out how to improve the accessibility and safety of all 13 city parks and any future parks.

The West Richland Park Board plans to hold an open house Monday night on how to get the city parks in compliance with the American with Disabilities Act. The final ADA Transition Plan will provide City Council with ADA assessments and recommendations for a 10-year prioritization and schedule for implementation.

The Park Board cordially invites the public to attend an open house scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2013, beginning at 6:30 p.m.  The firm of McKay & Sposito is assisting the City with completing an ADA Transition Plan, including a parks inventory and an update on the ADA Assessment and Transition Plan.

Members of the Park Board and the public are invited to provide feedback during the process. Please click here to review the ADA Transition Plan Draft.
