Benton County Hazardous Waste Collection This Weekend

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. - The Benton County hazardous waste collection is coming up this weekend.

Residents can drop off any unwanted hazardous materials on Friday and Saturday, October 4 and 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Benton Franklin Fairgrounds, 10th Avenue entrance, in Kennewick.

The two-day event is for residential hazardous waste disposal only. No business or commercial waste will be accepted.

Acceptable materials include paints, solvents, cleaners, automotive fluids, pesticides, fertilizers, fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, propane tanks, and pool or hot tub chemicals.

Items not accepted include electronics, tires, appliances, explosives, radioactive materials, asbestos, biohazards and trash.

Proof of Benton County residency is required.
