Two Kennewick Fred Meyer Employees Recognized for Helping Deputies in Arrest

KENNEWICK, Wash.- Two kennewick Fred Meyer employees were recognized for helping Benton County Sheriff's Deputies put four people in jail.

Deputies were investigating a crime in the store when they noticed suspicious people going in and out of a Lexus in the parking lot.

The store's loss prevention officer worked with the deputies on getting surveillance video.

When deputies asked a cart runner for help, he willingly jotted down the car's license plate number for them, which lead them to discover the Lexus was stolen.

"To go above and beyond and help us out with fighting crime and that's what it comes down to they put in a little effort to help us out and law enforcement can't always do it on their own but with their assistance we were able to take these four people to jail," said Deputy Shane Benningfield, Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Three of the four people arrested that day are still in jail for possession of drugs, guns and auto theft.
