Man Arrested for Trying to Assault Kennewick Police Officer

KENNEWICK, WA - A man is facing charges after Kennewick Police say he tried to an assault an officer.

Around 1:15pm on Monday, officers headed out to the Kennewick Safeway on West Kennewick Avenue to check out a call about a man who was yelling profane words to people in the area.  

The man was identified as Marshall Kendall.

When an officer got to the scene, Kendall made an advancement toward the officer in an aggressive way. However, Kendall didn't stop trying to assault the officer when the officer asked him to stop or when he painted Kendall with his taser.

The officer asked Kendall to sit down and he didn't. That's when the officer used force and arrested Kendall for obstructing a police officer.

Kendall also violently resisted officer when he was being put into the patrol vehicle. He kicked an officer twice while officers put him the car.
