Davis High Partners with Hoover Elementary to Stop Bullying

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wa. -- National Bully Awareness Month starts Tuesday.

Davis High School and Hoover Elementary in Yakima are teaming up to reach younger kids about bullying. Davis students will come to Hoover and perform a skit at an assembly to urge kids to be nice to one another.

"There's so many of our kids at Hoover that say you know, 'I'm going to Davis when I grow up,'" President of the Hoover PTA Shelley McWain said. "They're going to look up to these kids and maybe it will make them think about, you know if they don't think bullying is cool then maybe I should try to be a little nicer."

Ten Davis seniors are using Bullying Awareness Month as their senior project and will receive community service hours for the presentation.
