VIRAL VIDEO: A Father's Story Of How He Learned To Love The Daughter With Down Syndrome He Initially Wanted To Abort

KHQ.COM - Heath White chased perfection his entire life. Everything in is his life had to be perfect...even his family. So when he found out that he and his wife's unborn daughter had Down Syndrome he almost made what he now says would have have been the biggest mistake of his life.

He wanted his wife to abort the child but she refused. She wouldn't be "perfect" and that terrified him. Paisley was born with Down Syndrome in 2007 and she has stolen her father's heart. He shudders at the thought of the choice he almost made and is now living his life to make sure Paisley has no doubt how much she is loved and just how perfect she is.

Heath White thought he had everything but realizes he wouldn't have become even half the man he is today, if it hadn't been for Paisley. Heath has always been a runner but after Paisley was born, he committed to push her 321 miles through many marathons, to show the world just how special she is. 321 miles because Down Syndrome is the 3rd replication of the 21st chromosome.

Heath has even tattooed "Down Syndrome" across his chest. He said "One of the first things people see when they look at Paisley, is Down Syndrome, and I want it to be one of the first things you see, when you see me."

Cambridgeshire Police are not releasing other details about the incident Monday at Hamerton Zoo, which is 80 miles (130 kilometers) north of London. The zoo was evacuated when the incident took place and an air ambulance was called.
