Idaho School District Considering Teachers with Guns
SANDPOINT, ID. - A northern Idaho school district is considering the idea of letting teachers carry guns. A board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at the Sandpoint High School Auditorium. The Lake Pend Oreille School District first heard the proposal two weeks ago.
Public comment will be welcomed while school leaders decided if certain staff members should be trained and licensed to carry concealed guns.
The chairman who introduced the plan said only police and school administrators would know who the identities of those teachers. He believes teachers with guns could help with response time in a crisis.
